Protection from transmission and infection is decreasing rapidly after 2-3 months. That's why it's nonsense to claim that the vaccines protect others.

We know very little. The only real world study found a 30% decline in transmission among the vaccinated: https://www.medrxiv.org/content/medrxiv/early/2021/03/21/2021.03.11.21253275.full.pdf … However, that number likely drops over time. It's quite possible there is no vaccine effect on transmission. It might even make it worse.
