The only difference between religion and ideology is the what you believe in. Whether its a "Deity" that decides what is "right and proper" or its something else like "dialectics of history" or any other crap. All religions are just subset of ideologies.

Speaking as a humanist, I don't find anything difficult in religion. It's a relic from 1000s of years ago and it's largely a controlling ideology in itself. So please excuse my scepticism.
