Currently reading about Rule 3, as I’m going through the 12 Rules for the 3rd time. Thank you for this gift. It has been tremendously insightful and helpful to me on my own journey.

It's not selfish to love yourself, to take care of yourself, and to make your happiness a priority. It's necessary.

Dr. Peterson I must say that your talks, as a catalyst, have improved my life immeasurably. I don't know how I can thank you enough, you have helped me do what I thought was impossible and overcome many of the hurtles of autism.

We want what we believe will make us happy, but it never lasts so we we want something else, which is fine if it’s a new/different goal to reach. But once each goal is reached, we adapt, happiness fades, next step is move into gratitude+help others

I don't see the distinction here. If it's good for, doesn't that mean it's something that is going to make you happy? What other measure is there?

I think it's timescale ie sometimes you have to choose to do something uncomfortable, something that you do not enjoy doing in the moment, because in the long run it will ultimately be better for you.
