In the 1990s, the average wage in Korea was the equivalent of $2 a month.
Rice was a luxury. Other forms of food were virtually unheard of, such as protein and fruit.

Yes it was. In 1988, South Korea hosted the Olympics. I visited it in 1993 and had a wonderful trip, plenty of food and nice people.

I am around people all the time that say “ well it can be worse “ I’m like yes I can be getting prison rapped while watching my child burn. It’s the easiest way to get nowhere to always say it can be worst instead of how can we do better.
