This is an obvious result of warmer temperatures. It doesn’t mean that climate change is a GOOD thing, or that the many tens of thousands of people that will have to find new places to live are any happier about it.

that's because that green vegetation growth does not differentiate between a forest and a green cropland (corn, vegetables, etc.)

Agricultural land peaked in the 1960s. Amazingly the world is producing more and more food on less and less land.

In fairness, this doesn't account for palm oil plantations (and similar) that actually destroyed the native ecosystems. That would be included in the "green vegetation" metric even though it was catastrophically destructive.
