The terms “they”, “they’re” and “them” is used as if “white” people from such unique and diverse heritages, from the likes of Italy, Russia, Spain, Lebanon, Turkey or Greece would have even a semblance of similarity in their cultures, upbringing and lived experiences.

Race matters. Unity also matters. Dealing with racism unites people. Ignoring it divides people. Until we’ve totally dealt with systemic racism complete unity is not possible. You can argue with that all day but white washing history will not heal this nations wounds.
