It’s not precisely an act of faith, it’s a matter of principle. Taking Truth as the highest good is not an arbitrary act of faith equivalent to any other, since one cannot coherently deny truth as the highest good

Think about it: if you deny truth as the highest good, then either you have some argument for why that is which you believe to be true, in which case you take truth as the highest good already
