Trying to approximate ones world view to objective reality is not an ideology. These people are skeptics and allow for a change of mind if given good arguments to do so.

Yup. People just like being in new groups so they can identify themselves as separate from the old status quo. I'd venture it's a big part of why we're seeing so much tribalism these days.
