I think the problem is to decide when quantity transforms to quality. All societies, schools and jobs demand following some protocols, sometimes hypocritical or just stupid. The question is when obeying them becomes a betrayal of individual beliefs, nature and dignity.

Professors didn't appreciate when I challenged a premise of their question. I did it anyways. My grades definitely suffered in the classes with professors like that.

More accurately Ben said take tests like a leftist and argue your values because they way things were graded was by number without a name and therefore without a face. This was also close to 5-3 years ago. He might say different now.
