Yes. Proxy IQ tests aren't perfect and don't assess trait conscientiousness but they are less biased than any other selection technique we can currently employ (all forms of bias considered). Anyone who tells you different does not know the relevant literature.https://twitter.com/primalpoly/status/1375447701949661188 …

The Left's war against standardized testing, honors programs, academic excellence, school choice, and meritocracy is largely anti-Asian racism disguised as 'anti-racism'. https://twitter.com/ycinnewyork/status/1375423144421380098 …

I wasn't aware that CSIS and the RCMP were studying nuclear engineering and physics students when we did our tests, but it makes sense they wouldn't teach a full nuclear curriculum without a kind of security check beforehandpic.twitter.com/btf0z6YruS

How do we know that "intelligence" exists and had a referent out there if we can't define it and have a coherent theory on it? How can we measure something we have no theory/definition of? https://notpoliticallycorrect.me/2020/08/16/conceptual-arguments-against-heredetarianism/ …https://notpoliticallycorrect.me/2019/12/09/definitions-of-intelligence-and-its-measurement/ …

When you write the tests don't assess trait conscientiousness, it means you can't simply work really really hard and do well on it right?

Well yes and no. Putting in more hours of work will certainly net you a better score, but consider that for some ppl there are diminishing returns for studying for more hours.

They are extremely biased, I’m an educator. And if we take learning as an expression of “neurological connections” then the bias lies within capturing the expression of neurological connections (learning) through “symbols and texts” (reading and writing based exams)

Education is very industrial and we mainly use exams and written tests as ways to assess because it’s efficient. I can capture a lot of data and grade it over a few weeks. To assess through observation and the student expressing the learning practically would take longer

Clearly, these tests are useful for selecting medical doctors, engineers and scientists, but I'm not so sure about other professions. Law is a great example. Tech is another. These tests don't identify critical or innovative/creative thinking.

I think you’d find that software devs as a cohort would score very high on IQ tests and, conversely, people who score low on IQ tests would struggle to work in software dev (even assuming test results were confidential).
