Well for what it's worth I did listen to the Audible edition of the book and was pleasantly surprised. I guess I should not have judged him by "Maps of Meaning" which I still think is awful drivel. 4 stars.

His commentary on political issues is a very small part of his vast body of work. It's not evident where he lies on the political spectrum, except that he's very close to the center. He's helped a lot of people.
