No. There have been active programs in western nations for 40 years to attract more women to hard sciences and math. A variety of strategies. They have plateaued. And no one seems very interested in talking to women who ARE in those fields about what "the problem" is.

Perhaps the antidote is not quotas in STEM, but higher social and financial status of the non-STEM disciplines? Like, teachers. The people who literally build the country's future. Should probably be paid many multiples of "a living wage." And 10x the respect. Many others too

I don't live in the US but i study to become a teacher and we've increased the salary for teachers a lot here yet it didn't increase quanity or quality of applicants. Seems to be unattractive for many reasons sadly =/

Then people must be highly disappointed in me because all I teach in my math class is, well, math. Pretty much all I plan on doing. My kids seem to be doing just fine, thank you.
