I really don’t understand why this is shocking, we know women are higher in emotions than men, obviously they’d be more prone to mental instability.. like isn’t all this kind of obvious?

Any specific emotions?? Cos given the disproportionately large number of men in prison compared with women, I think you might possibly find that anger, for example, isn’t an emotion that women experience more. So no, it’s not obvious that women are more mentally unstable.

The obvious question being - in less free, less gender-equal and poorer countries, how well are these women’s mental health issues being evaluated? In what context does a socially and legally second class citizen taught to be subservient complain about their happiness?

You can generally glean this from other statistics, such as suicide rates, average lifespan, Anonymous polling and such. it’s like the mental health crisis for Zoomers. People say, they’re just comfortable talking about it. But actual hospital cases for self harm are way up
