Professor JP, I finished reading Crime and Punishment yesterday and also listened to the audiobook, narrated by George Guidall. Phenomenal book, felt like a religious experience. Thank you for the recommendation. The Brothers Karamazov is up next 👍🏻

"Dostoevsky, the only psychologist from whom I've anything to learn.” - Nietzsche Thank you, Mr.Peterson, for recommending the works of Dostoevsky. His novels were my companions in the long cold winters in North Europe.

One of few required reading positions I actually had giant brainmelts over in high school, Crime and Punishment was. I wonder if Polish curriculum still holds it as required. It would explain some things if it didn’t 🙃

Dr. Peterson, do you think Raskolnikov's dream of the man beating the horses to death was Dostoyevsky using typology to symbolize something of a Jungian shadow? i.e. the man beating the horse is the shadow, the boy watching is the self.

Has to do also with the Christ and Lazarus again, the whole book is about it. The Christ's walk, innoncent and pure while being beaten to death.
