Dear Dr Peterson, I'm 23 years old and i have been struggling with depression and suicidal thoughts for most of my teenage and adult life. I never had the courage to open up about it as I am scared of what would happen if I did. Any advice on how I could pull myself out of it?

A more expanded answer: Try to imagine your life turning out the worst way possible. Run from that. Now imagine your life turning out the BEST way possible. Run to that. It's important to have something to work towards AND work away from.

I basically incorporated the principle into my daily life about a year and a half ago, to run away from my worst potential future and that gives me clear goals to strive toward. I was failing my BA back then, ill be doing an MSc soon. Thanks Jordan.
