I've been saying this for the last few years. We used to listen to punk music, dye our hair, get tattoos and piercings to "rebel" and be "anti-establishment". All that stuff is mainstream now so kids need something new to shock their parents and society.

This is a pretty biased study (they recruited by posting on , inter alia "http://youthtranscriticalprofessionals.com "). Methodology doesn't say the criteria by which they included or excluded surveys (though they apparently excluded some). Also has four typoes in the abstract.
