This rule's a bit perfectionistic - unless you're defining what perfect is and give yourself a compassionate buffer. It's a good goal, high ideal to strive for - however staying silent and not criticizing on your way there isn't the best advice.

So... we’ll never criticize the world? This rule doesn’t make much sense because we can never perfect ourselves without healthy objection to what we perceive as imperfect. Doesn’t make a lot of sense.

In fact.... we can never perfect ourselves ever. I’d recommend to you Dr. Peterson to discover the wonderful and incredible life and spiritual exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola. Our journey is never perfected. Acceptance of this dilemma allows us to work with reality.
