All due respect, why does the home insurance not cover ‘catastrophic’ flooding? When is flooding not catastrophic? Anyways, hope he gets back to normal and seeks a decent insurance company in future.

I don’t know about Canada where he is but in the US flood damage is excluded from homeowner insurance policies.
