I am a former student of Sullivan and he's a great person. I don't agree with the attempts to attack him. That said, there's a point to be made here about whom someone *in his position* chooses to represent.

You either believe that everyone deserves legal representation and in the rule of law or you don't. There is no in between. If you think there is a 'in between', who decides what is right and wrong. Accused sex offenders this time. Conservatives next time ? CIS gendered ? Whites?

I would make the case that a university isn't supposed to be a "comfortable environment". Safe, yes. But interrogating ideas is seldom comfortable.
