Maybe because of the connotation being in its infancy. Some people use “white” as a derogatory time (like the N word(?)). There can be humorous stereotypes associated, however because of an apparent attack on “white culture” I can understand why it could be considered rude

Why not recognize the racism in Western history and own it? It was morally wrong and people still suffer due to it. Why should it be so hard to take responsibility for it?
