Man, I'm in the opposite camp here. I went to school and failed and I fought tooth and nail to not ask for exceptions because I am on SSI and have a severe and rare mental illness called schizoaffective disorder which occurs in .3% of the population and I also have ADHD.

Extra time on tests is absolutely ridiculous. It fundamentally changes the assessment. Should poor sprinters be given a head start to level the playing field and make them seem faster than they are?
In 1963, I was a dyslexic kid from a poor background, desperate to get out of my rough environment. I signed up on my own and took an entrance exam for a prep school which was 90 minutes away on public transit. Got in. Got aid. This gaming of the system could have shut that door.
My son just took the ACT & SAT. He didn’t have enough time to complete the ACT but he finished the SAT quickly. Part of the skill assessment is, of course, the time restriction. It is just as criminal an act to fake an illness as it is to purchase an acceptance thru donations.
The problem with thar theory is there is a different "valid target" for different majors right?
