Interesting question: "Why are humans on average so prone to groupthink, and self censoring, even absent an oppressive gov, and given a free society?" This is pattern seems systematic, could there be something deeper operating here. Ties to evolution?

Being cast out (becoming an outcast) was always a death sentence and humans still have a deep fear of it. Most people live paycheck to paycheck and carry debt, so in modern developed world being cut off from employment (cast out of your profession) has major consequences. 1of2

Thank you. I've started watching. It does seem strange, though, to say it's new (because i'm certainly not and know this way of living well), and worrisome that psychedelics need to be included with buddhism and stoicism. Why do that more than once?

Buddhism = the exotic 'other' This fad will last only as long as people dream that exotic non-Western philosophies / religions have answers to serious questions, Eventually it will be demonstrated that exotic non-Western cultures don't work well in the real world.
