What people consider racism now is built upon hyperbolic implications. People say rude, ignorant, insensitive things. It doesn’t mean they condemned an entire race or believe they are superior to said race based on their own. Reject weaponized hyperbole.

Gosh. 30 years in the classroom and I never knew my whiteness was a problem. My poor former students must be traumatized.

The author would say that your whiteness has not let you see the problem before. If you continue to object, the author will claim that you don't see it now. If you appeal to principles like treating people as valuable individuals, that will be evidence of racialized whiteness.

analyses that include looking at cultures of subgroups can be useful,I know how it seems like the easy path to make culture less frustratingly hypocritical is to get them to apply their standards to themselves, but culture blindness is a bad value

Culture blindness can neutralize mischief, for it's easier to not be wrong if no judgments are made, but the cost is loss of critical insight
