I see through the divide and recognize, rather, that the people that are against things are having a hard go of it. People that are for things seem to do alright.

That’s debatable. Slander & shaming are now common tools of control on the left side of politics, & there is little or no accountability for it as long as you target the “oppressor” classes. So being against stuff isn’t the key factor. It is who you are against.
