Only thing preventing people, in the area I work, are those jobs that require a degree. The degree is used as a crutch for a complete lack of the ability to identify talented and hard working people. I agreed with pretty much the entire article here.

The trades are good careers (I am not sure I would choose electrician), but there are not an infinite amount of trade jobs either. Lets also consider that trade schools do not teach skills for furthering your career. College has value, and so does trade school.
