Universities have been corrupted by the for profit nature resulting in dizzying numbers of administrators and adjuncts. You seem to completely ignore this as it doesn't match what your crowd wants to hear. Which is making you less important, and just another entertainer, IMO.

Of course! But it has always been so. In my life, I dropped out at the completion of pre-law program (1968) because I could make better money in construction. I retired in 2000, and still living well, without enduring ridiculous "professional" crap of the rat-race..
