Did you ever study the Harris/Chomsky debate? It's not you. It's not even Chomsky. It's Harris.

If we took the stance that facts are human inventions and not discoveries this problem would evaporate.

Surely you mean "values from fact" and not the other way around...?

"'The good life is preferable to the bad life' is not a fact but a call to action." If that is not a fact, then your definition of 'fact' needs to be reconsidered. Find one person alive who would claim the contrary to be true under any circumstances.

Sam Harris position is not shared by the best thinkers of atheism. Most of them accept that objective moral values are simply incompatible with their worldview. You cant have your cake and eat it too.

Value-from-facts doesn’t work because values are abstract concepts that, if they exist, must exist independently of a physical universe. If the universe had manifested itself differently, on this view, the objective nature of morality would be different, which contradicts itself.

The position of Sam Harris is the 'third eye position'. I understand yours also, I call it the 'one eye position'. I do understand I have to deal with people like you while I think like Sam Harris. This does not in any way diminish the respect I feel for you.

Is this when I say your position is cross-eyed? How gracious you are to learn how to live with the opinions of Peterson. Maybe he can get some sleep now?

Harris is claiming that morality is able to be constructed by each individual from scratch. You postulate that it requires a long history with multiple individuals combined with social evolution. Why not either way? Perhaps the same thing can be constructed in multiple ways.pic.twitter.com/kNadTuGnuU
