Obviously this guy doesn't even understand the concept of the Side-Quest. The whole point is to gain EXP and level up so that you're more capable to deal with the main quest line.

Or maybe something other than EXP. Maybe a piece of heart, or some money, or something else useful. Sometimes it's just for the lore, even. Regardless, side quests are usually worth while.
