If somebody uses an argument to prove a certain point, are they obligated to use that argument to prove other stances they hold? Or, at least obligated to not go against the previous argument to prove the new point?

I've always thought distinguishing sex and gender helpful. Biological sex is one thing. If gender is socially moderated, it explains plenty of variable behavior both across and within cultures.
