Tim, it’s most definitely caused by free markets. We have plenty of data points to prove it too. Take the economic freedom index and see how every country moved up and down said index over the course of 30 years. At this point it’s not just a coincidence.

Of course PPP is adjusted for inflation. Click the data link in the article. They explain how everything is gathered. Income per capita doesn’t mean anything when a personal computer costs $5,000 in 1979 but only $500 today. PPP is a better indication of progress.
