Also interesting to note, and slightly glossed over, is that though population has doubled birth rate has halved, very roughly speaking. This means that the reduction in child deaths, from 20 to 6 million, can be directly extrapolated instead of measured by rate.

If you think declining birth rates are good for Europe then you’ll welcome immigrants from subsistence countries depleting the Welfare reserves of western nations.

Good short informative hopeful yet sobering read

Yes there has been significant improvement in many key areas which is really great. However where are the graphs showing what has happened since 1800 to: Animal species, non renewable resources, water quality, air quality, waste generated, carbon in the atmosphere etc?
