I keep hearing this over population problem as an argument for abortion. Where's that leave the argument if it's false?

Humankind struggled to survive for centuries due primarily to the diminutive size of the disparate tribes.

OR we can just reduce the population down to about 50 people who each go around leaving one giant fucking carbon footprint.

love to share Koch-funded propaganda

It’s not Koch, it’s Julian Simon, do a little research, read some of his work, he was a well published economist who wrote many books and a articles, mostly on economic subjects. Best known for his work on population, natural resources, and immigration.

I don’t understand this cause/effect logic. In statistics, isolating one variable and holding that out singularly as the reason for something is a flawed approach. The initial premise that world conditions would decline w/ higher populations assumed no improvements in technology.
-
Exactly. Correlation is not causation. In fact, in this case, it is likely the cause and effect are reversed.

This is a flawed conclusion. Over population led to over pollution. One can hardly breathe in Asia. So, let’s not glorify the so-called progress. Yes, you have more consumer and consumption. That’s all.
-
Also these negative effects (pollution, deforestation) occur during the development phase of a nation, once GDP is hi enough these things tend to reduce again as prosperity increases. 2/2
