being gay AND ace is a thing jordan, literally if you want to think of them as ace you’re allowed to. nobody addresses sex on a preschool tv show
-
-
-
That being in an ace relationship also can include having same sex companions is exactly a point I’ve already made with someone else here. I’m pan-romantic so yeah.
-
okay then what’s the problem
-
Literally waiting for them to answer these intelligent questions but they seem so fucking stumped.
-
Literally? Are you literally sitting in anticipation? And I’m saying if there’s going to be a conversation around the sexuality of these characters at all limiting it to gay/straight omits an option that these characters’ lifestyle fits VERY cleanly with.
-
hskfhsjfjd not a single person is omitting asexuality by saying they’re gay the two are not mutually exclusive. the fact that you seem to think they are is EXTREMELY telling of how you view gay men
-
.. very telling.

"asexual erasure" :') have you ever said anything similar about a straight couple?
-
LOL yes all the straight erasure in this world!!! MAKE IT STOP!!
-
i meant have you ever accused a straight couple of being "asexual erasure"?
-
well someone had to say it -
Yeah. Betty and Jughead in Riverdale.
-
whom?
-
There's a popular teen drama called Riverdale based off Archie Comics in which the character Jughead is confirmed ace+aro (he experiences no romantic and sexual attraction) despite the actor playing him saying he wants the rep, his identity was erased and he has a gf that he's-

Attracted to both romantically and sexually

how and why are you verified jfc

That’s not a counter argument.
-
It wasn't a counter I can't argue with a an argument that doesn't make sense
-
Beyond Todd Chavez on Bojack tell me 3 canonically ace characters in film or TV? And they fully wrote that out of Jughead’s character in Riverdale so, yes! Exclusion of asexual characters DOES exist.
-
yeah idk how to explain how asexual erasure isnt a form of systemic oppression but a form of stigmaization and isn't worth getting so worked up over unlike lgbt erasure or whitewashing which is actual oppression anyways have fun caring about two puppets banging in a kids show
-
Minimizing anything to “two puppets” or being “a kids show” or “just a cartoon” in the case of animation really undersells the value of all those types of popular art. Kids are the MOST important demographics to expose to broad demographics and ideas.
-
so why are you trying to take the little gay rep they have away? rhetorical question, i know youre about to hop on some absolute bs as an answer
