I feel like I’m turning into some kind of insane person. But why was there a flight from Perugia to RAF Northolt? And who was on it?
-
There was indeed. That matches the time stated in the original story from Repubblica.

Do airports normally have Presidents ? Is Perugia airport some kind of microstate ?
-
"Presidente" is a more widely used term in Italian. I assume the Telegraph spoke to the Chair of the Board (who would be Presidente in Italian).

It’s all so weird. Also, the anonymous airport worker cited by La Repubblica who says he saw Johnson. Who is lying and why, or who made a massive error of fact and why?
-
There are at least two airport workers who say they saw him. The press release was clear - Johnson AND Blair. If it had only said Johnson then the "Presidente" statement might have made sense, but it did not. Total mess.
