Our small church had already started a one ton challenge to collect 2000 lbs during 2020. With most of our programs on hold, we ended up doubling that to 4000 lbs. This is important because as the needs went up, many of the donations to food banks went down.

I donate to our local food bank every week and have for years.

and for most food banks, it's better to give $ than food. And for other local ones, check to see if they can take donations of paper goods. For some place that can, that's the only way they get paper goods to distribute (i.e. toilet paper)

They are doing such a great job! It’s the same here... our local supermarket had a shopping cart where you could drop something for the food bank here so we actually just donated some products...
