Sadly today’s reaction to the #SewellReport reflects the fact that too many people are only interested in having a conversation on an issue if that conversation ends with everyone agreeing with their starting point.
Not sure it’s particularly unusual is it? Unless the rest of report doesn’t reflect the summary I don’t see a massive issue (haven’t got past summary and recommendations yet so cant confirm that myself)

I haven't read all 246 pages - does appear to at least be slightly more nuanced (albeit not much). And even if the conclusions are similar, it means it got reported on by journos who were unable to scrutinise the data on which those conclusions were based.

The use of the word 'beacon' in particular seems particularly troubled, as the wording in the report states that the UK should continue its progress *towards* being a beacon to the rest of Europe and the world, not that it already is
