This whole Marcus Rashford / feeding children argument is one of the very few where I have yet to see even a remotely defensible argument on the other side. One of the very many where you get to see the real spite and contempt of a disturbing proportion of the population.
The argument is that this type of welfare is provided through universal credit which has already been increased. This is not about whether to support struggling families to feed children but how best to do it.

Indeed even if you take the view that welfare isn't generous enough (which I have sympathy with) it's fairly obviously a problem that should be solved through the welfare system, in an ideal world
