Overall that was very detailed and open from Dominic Cummings. People who didn’t like him yesterday won’t like him tomorrow but the decisions he took at each stage appear reasonable in the circumstances (which doesn’t mean you have to agree with them).
I think anyone who was in DC’s particular circumstances would be justified to transport their child to self-isolate near people who could care for them if they believed they may become unable to do so.

As I understand it they didn’t realise she might have the virus, simply some symptoms of illness. And is Johnson really expending this much political capital on a well off couple in the heart of London who didn’t have an au pair and couldn’t get friends to help? Seriously?

He says he didn’t feel comfortable asking someone outside his family to do this as if they had had to look after his kid they would be putting themselves at risk of infection. To me that seems reasonable.
