Overall that was very detailed and open from Dominic Cummings. People who didn’t like him yesterday won’t like him tomorrow but the decisions he took at each stage appear reasonable in the circumstances (which doesn’t mean you have to agree with them).
I can’t see that his actions would have impacted on R as he made clear he didn’t have any additional social interactions. Second q, he covered that and he is clearly a target for some quite unreasonable abuse and didn’t want his family to be subject to that too.

That wasn’t my question. If it was ok for him to drive 250miles, why couldn’t the entire country do the same ? Also, govt advice at the time in minimising travel wasn’t about intent to not interact, but that travel has risk of accident and breakdown, adding workload & risk

I think anyone who was in DC’s particular circumstances would be justified to transport their child to self-isolate near people who could care for them if they believed they may become unable to do so.
