That’s great you’re going to stand with workers, @jonmolyneuxSGP. Will you stand with teachers, support staff, janitors, cleaners and dinner hall staff who have to go into schools no matter how much infections rise, even when we’re at Level 4, many travelling on public transport?https://twitter.com/Glasgow_Times/status/1319945364989005824 …

That’s good to hear.Thank you. It’s a real slap in the face to be told that, even if we get to Level 4,children and staff have still to be in school. It just feels like there is no care for our safety and that we’re expendable. I worry about the children, too. Thanks for replying.

I wrote to the DFM at the start of the month about vulnerable, previous shielding teachers being pressured back into classrooms when the risk is clearly unacceptable. Have asked him to intervene, given the patchwork of approaches across the country. Not heard back yet.

Thanks for doing that, Ross. Situation is particularly urgent for those people and also for pregnant staff. Ultimately though, teachers feel like we could be at the “Bring Out Your Dead” stage and we’d still be expected to go in. Our ancillary staff colleagues feel much the same.
