@policescotland @NicolaSturgeon @jonmolyneuxSGP I'm sick of this. I've called the police twice starting an hour ago and it's still going.pic.twitter.com/CeDHPLfkJh
Hi. Sorry to hear this. @GlasgowSEPolice has a fireworks action plan for the area this year but is constrainted by resources. Last year, I explored possibility of making a local by-law restricting sale for licenced events only, but it’s not in the Council’s competence to do so.

Others including
@alisonthewliss raised the issue with UK Gov but it fell on deaf ears. There’s an argument against blanket restrictions in response to the behaviour of a minority, but I see no reason why Councils shouldn’t be specifically empowered to make local decisions.Bedankt, Twitter gebruikt dit om je tijdlijn te verbeteren. Cheers Jon. I'd guess the proportion of fireworks used for legal, private use these days relative to antisocial and illegal use is becoming vanishingly small, so it may well be sensible to pursue a ban for sale to the general public at a higher level. I'll try to start a debate.
