I don’t believe type 1’s are 3.5 x more likely to get it. Lots of fit athletic type 1’s about. Wonder why the blood sugar monitor is in mg/dl (USA) when it’s supposed to be a UK article. We use mmol/L in uk. Probably because wrote it has no idea about diabetes

I agree about the photo but the person who wrote the article wouldn’t have picked the photo or the headline that’s not how newspapers work. The figure is accurate as it’s from a reputable source I agree that many type 1 are very fit

Definitely a good reason to lose weight although there are a lot of type 2 diabetics in India and so far they seem to be doing pretty well against Covid 19 mainly, it would seem due to a plentiful supply of Hydroxychloroquine

Bollocks, there are people in India who don't know when their birthday is or how old they are due to poor record keeping especially in rural areas. We have absolutely no idea what the real numbers in India could be.
