    Boss fights also seem to be more prone to hard crashes. I've had a few where I had just about won, game crashed, and I just moved on to another game. I think they're less play tested, use special one-off game features, and push the graphics cards harder.

    It feels more jarring now that open world / free exploration games with branching storylines are becoming more common. After a few hours of creative play, I'm shoved into a heavily scripted fight scene.

    This is one place where bad save point implementation pops up, too: lose in round 3 of the boss fight and get sent to the cutscene before the fight.

    There are some games that make them fun or reward creativity. And some games where the boss fight is really integral to the story or game mechanics. But for a lot of games, it feels like a gimmick, with one scripted series of steps you have to suffer through.

    This weekend's bread haul: one sourdough round, one gluten free loaf. Had to cheat with a bit of baking soda on the gluten free loaf but a solid start.

    I hate boss fights. My least favorite part of any video game. Takes me out of the story and ruins the fun. Give me a Skip Boss Fights button, or a Happy Fun Platinum Premier version for $5 more that nerfs the bosses. Boss fights aren't fun.

    Really great performance post. I didn't know calling ToString on enums was using reflection. Will use nameof in future.

    I used to do that, until I read this: VS, resharper, and Rider all still suggest it though...

    Greyhound movie is quite good. It's refreshing to see that level of quality & accuracy in a military movie. Navy lingo was perfect. More important: interpersonal communications btwn ranks were spot on. None of the hokey "Sir yes sir!" & "Permission to speak freely sir" cliches.
