We passed gun safety laws in Colorado after Aurora (the ugliest political fight I've ever been involved in) and the gun lobby recalled the legislators. But the laws are still here. It can be done with enough courage.
Remember when a bipartisan coalition of lawmakers said they would ban bump stocks after Las Vegas and fix the instant background check system after Texas? Neither happened.

Actually the company was sued because they were NOT protected as firearms companies, which cannot be sued under the same circumstance, because of some crazy law. There is progress on that front happening, not fast enough but it's happening.
