Own it, Dan. The Democrats held together and voted no. They stopped the CR. If every Republican had voted yes, they still would have stopped the CR.https://twitter.com/danpfeiffer/status/954561120227831808 …

And yet NYT reported GOP blockage of Obama plan to let Bush tax cuts expire as "Senate failed," not "GOP blocked" + said Senate rules "required" 60 votes.

This was how most media outlets including the Times covered GOP filibusters of Obama initiatives
Yup. I'm part of the media, but the way D.C. press normalized filibusters was depressing.
Here, .@jonathanweisman - I fixed it for you.pic.twitter.com/ah2zfKQjN3
More people crossed the aisle to vote on this budget bill than anyone in recent memory, it’s an odd choice to ignore that fact in your push notification. But then again I forgot the NYT is immune to any criticism and always infallible
5 of them jumped in my mentions in a week. So just saying I’ve been there.
True story! I witnessed it. They’re very defensive about their love for Donald. It’s a bit odd, tbh.
Are you going to respond to this?https://twitter.com/TVMoJoe/status/954567566730539008 …
What’s your response to this legitimate criticism of your constant slant that @GOP position is normal when it’s so radical? This is an annual appropriations for nearly entire govt undone three months into the FY. How is this one vote fail on Dems? Do you not get budgeting?
When was the last time the @nytimes owned up to anything?
When Jayson Blair resigned, probably
Haha sounds about right.
The bigger question is why, given your headline and lede, you quoted a spin-tweet from the president in graf five & didn't bother quoting any Senate Democrats (the deciders, you say) until graf 13, when you included Schumer's OBE line leaving the WH. You're the editor...explain?
who taught you math?

But there aren’t 56 Democrats in the Senate. 4 Republicans also voted against the CR. 4 Democrats voted for it. How is that uniformly one way or the other in terms of attribution?
Excuse me, I meant 5 Democrats voted yes. 5 Democrat defections does not square with the idea of the whole delegation holding together to kill the CR. They would need some help. Which they got. In 4 senators who don’t share their party affiliation.
Republicans couldn’t muster enough votes on their own bill to do something they said they would do.

While we’re doing math can you tell me the number of times one party has had WH House and Senate and had a shutdown?
