How the hell have we allowed healthcare for children to become a "sweetener"?! What the hell is wrong with this country?
This may be giving @realDonaldTrump too much credit but maybe there is a method to severing CHIP from the spending bill; maybe he thinks CHIP is a needed sweetener for an immigration deal that Democrats would otherwise oppose as too tough.

I can't help but feel like reporting on CHIP, that literally keeps children alive, as some Democratic party pet issue, has contributed to the ability of this president to create this hostage situation. It's sick.
