All I am saying is we should use past experience, the design of the tax cuts & the words of the House Speaker to project intentions & the intentions are to extend the middle class tax cuts. In 2001, Democrats understood and pressed on the cost of the Bush cuts in the 2nd decade.https://twitter.com/lenburman/status/934168799011581952 …

Odd that you’d accuse Dean (and, implicitly, me) of being disingenuous. If the middle class cuts are sure to be extended, then the sunset is cynical dodge of budget rules. Debt is projected to be about $12b higher in 2027; No future tax cuts (or spending) are sure bets.

Let's also use the example of those times when there was a massive tax cut when the debt was enormous and the economy was good. Oh... there aren't any? Then maybe it's time to notice that the 2017 GOP is not the 2001 Dems.

If they considered the middle class tax cuts a priority, their cuts would be permanent.

The political expression of their intentions here is that they are willing to *gamble* that the individual middle class cuts will be extended but are NOT willing to gamble that the corporate cuts will. That speaks to their confidence, negates your point.

Sure there are intentions. But you can't argue it's disingenuous to talk about what's actually in the bill. 1/
