2. “We” includes climate scientists, enviro law experts, etc.

3. It wasn’t an “invitation to discuss” anything—it was “respectable” climate-change denialism, as was immediately recognized

4. blurring distinction btw technical/non-tech senses of “certainty” to undermine not just climate science, but notion of expertise itself

5. Completely at odds with everything NYT is supposed to represent

6. But even worse is NYT writers’ response to being called out—shockingly hostile, condescending, dismissive

7. Refusing to acknowledge possibility readers see something they don’t: NYT is losing its way

You didn't understand the column, or its significance. Every lie he made about climate change now has the imprimatur of the Times.

Your appalling arrogance in dismissing we your readers is sadly typical, and the main reason I canceled my subscription today.

We are not fools. We are well educated professionals, critical thinkers, and are enraged at the harm you are inflicting on our country.
