Taxation's primary purpose is to incentivize. Tax benefits to 401ks encourage people to save for their own retirement. How is that bad?
If White House isn't willing to do something hard, like end tax benefit for 401k's, Trump can't call it tax reform. Just a big ol' tax cut.

Do you understand that 401Ks are taxed when money is taken out of them unless they're Roths (in which case they're taxed up front)?
