@portereduardo When Bill proposed it in 1998, it wasn't seen as slide to single payer but a buy-in option that would be too pricey for folks

@portereduardo It could, but the origin of the proposal wasn't the left. It was the DLC. Buy-in premium was priced to pay for itself.
